Ihmany
Ihmany is a story driven, open world, RPG featuring 2D characters in a 3D space. You'll explore hundreds of maps with up to 16 playable characters with whom your interactions, or lack of interactions with with shape the world of Ihmany and the outcome of it.
Ihmany features dungeons, towns, puzzles, relics, and skills in a classic RPG fashion. It also features a classic RPG equipment system and the ability to swap out party members while on the world map.
WebGL version is available in your browser. But you can also download the Standalone version below.
Controls: Arrow Keys: Movement Interact: Z Jump: X Camera: C/V Shift: Sprint Space: Menu Fullscreen: F11
You, the player, enter the world of Ihmany with almost no knowledge of this strange new world as you explore it to learn more about itself, it's inhabitants, and those that join your party. The only thing you know is a single word that you remember before waking up. While you try to gather information and learn about your past, you can also follow and influence the stories of your party members to learn about them, build your relationship, and see the resolution. But you are just a ball of light. You can guide your party and help make decisions, but your party will be your influence as you take view the game as the equivalent of the game's camera.
Actions in Ihmany are broken down into minigames, every skill or attack used in combat will start a minigame which will either further enhance that skill, or further nullify a skill used by an enemy.
There are many quest lines that can be followed, one main line for you, the player. At least one for each playable character that can join your party. Several world quest lines or location quest lines, and many one off quests that don't chain into other quests but provide lore about the world.
Ihmany has a open world setting allowing you to take many different options, sometimes well before you really should be, but the game will hint you along through dialogue or through the actual menus to try and steer you in a better direction, which is completely up to your discretion.
The game functions on a quest or mission like system, where entering an area will first bring up a menu allowing you to choose if you are entering an area to do a mission//quest, or are merely visiting and don't want to advance the story.
Your interactions with your party affect your relationship with them and each other, which can affect quests available, dialogue responses, or affect the world of Ihmany as a whole in the long term.
Ihmany is currently incomplete and this is effectively a demo, bringing you to effectively the start of the Player quest line as well as part way through at least one of each of the recruitable character's stories as well as containing none of the world quests and only some of the side quests. The game currently features 7 playable NPC's of the total 16 and about 15-25 hours of gameplay, 9 or so hours if you skip all the dialogue only do quests mandatory in trying to get to the current end of the main player storyline.
~The WebGL build is not 100% fully tested and you may encounter some weirdness or bugs, while the Standalone build is pretty well tested and should be good to go. Note that because the saves on the WebGL build save to your browser and the Standalone save to your computer, that starting in one and then opening the other build will not carry over saves. Clearing your browser cache will also delete your WebGL saves. There is a non-zero chance that you find yourself a way to bug off a map and fall endlessly. If you do, press the "~" key and type /unstuck and that should fix you.~
